For thousands of years, stories and oral traditions were the key means for Jewish and Christian people to learn about and experience God. One of the ways that Soma Bible Church teaches and engages the Word is by telling the biblical narrative in the form of a story. Storying, is the modern name for this ancient Hebrew process.
We interact with these stories as a way to understand, experience and connect with God through his Word in community. The result is a theological foundation of God’s (redemptive) purposes as revealed in scripture.
We will go through the Story chronologically. These stories make up what we call the Overarching Story or “Redemptive Arc”. The line of questions we ask are designed to help us see the pattern of God’s redemptive work from the beginning of the Story to the end. It is not meant to teach us everything that we could possibly see in the story…that’s for another day.
